The renowned British sports car manufacturer can look back on a long company history. Already over 100 years ago, the first vehicle with the current company name Aston Martin was built. Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford founded Aston Martin in 1914 and initially participated in numerous racing events with their vehicles, from which only a few hundred copies were created until the second world war. Shortly after the end of the war, David Brown took over the car. Its initials still bear the sports cars called DB. In the 1970s the company had to be sold for financial reasons. At the end of the 80s the US manufacturer Ford took over three quarters and in the middle of the 90s the remaining shares. The most famous Aston Martin is known mainly through the use of James Bond in the film Goldfinger.
James Bond ♥ Aston Martin
Fortan celebrated further models in James Bond films premiere. At the beginning of 2007, Ford sold its majority stake in Prodrive from England and in 2012 an investment fund invested another £ 150 million in the development of Aston Martin. Since then the vehicles are only produced in Graz by Magna Steyr. Wheelsandmore has been developing its own performance components for all Aston Martin models since 2005. The production of multi-part rims for the DB9 series was begun in 2004. In 2005, the tuner from Baesweiler expanded the portfolio by using flap-controlled exhaust systems, which can be used to remote control a sound as desired. Both rims and suitable sport exhaust systems were available from now on for all Aston Martin DB9 and the Vantage model. For co-operation with KW-Automotive, a comfortable and at the same time sporty chassis solution in the form of coil drives was developed for optics and improved handling.
Quality updates for Volante models
The weaknesses of the standard chassis, especially in the Volante models, were history. Thanks to the continuously adjustable damping, it has been possible since then to adapt these Aston Martin models individually to customer requirements. With the development of a special CRP power kit, Wheelsandmore was able to meet the demands of the customers for additional power for the distinguished Brits as soon as possible, and generated a power increase of approximately 40 hp and 90Nm of torque by using this easy-to-install conversion kit. This kit and also the in-house 20 and 21 inch rims are also available for the Aston Martin DBS as coupe and convertible. For the lowering of the Aston Martin DBS, Wheelsandmore is responsible for 25mm lowering springs from H & R. Also for the construction-similar intermediate model Virage, which was produced from 2011-2012, Wheelsandmore keeps perfect tuning components available. With the Rapide and later the Rapide S Aston Martin after the Lagonda from 1976 for the first time again a 4-door Aston Martin, which also sporty families, similar to the Porsche Panamera and the Ferrari FF adequately place.
The special feature of Wheelsandmore is the unusual pin circle, which the Rapide shares with the current Aston Martin Vanquish. But also for these types Wheelsandmore builds perfectly matched rims made of forging material. The handmade tailpipes of the tuner with remote-controlled flaps are, of course, also available from these two and the Vanquish Volante model. Through the cooperation with Mercedes in 2013 the basic idea was to work together in the development of the engine, which impressively succeeded with the DB9, presented in 2016, the DB11 impressively.
Aston Martin DB11 interior
The interior of the Aston Martin DB11, in particular the information and entertainment system, also presents Mercedes bonds. Wheelsandmore presented 21 and 22 inch rims for the Aston Martin DB11 as the world’s first tuner at the beginning of 2017, underscoring its claim to be a world leader in the tuning and refinement of Aston Martin models. Even special models such as the rare Vantage GT12 were given the finishing touches by the German refiner and thus became absolutely unique.
